Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is counselling free? +
We offer low-cost and subsidised sessions. We never turn anyone away due to financial hardship — please reach out and let us find a way forward together.
Will my story be safe if I share it? +
Absolutely. You approve everything before it is published and can remain fully anonymous. You can withdraw your story at any time, for any reason — no questions asked.
Can I talk to someone right now? +
If you need urgent help, please call Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7) or dial 999 in an emergency. For non-urgent questions, we reply within 24 hours.
Are your counsellors qualified? +
Yes. All our counsellors are fully accredited (BACP/UKCP), registered, insured, and trained to the highest UK professional standards. They follow a strict code of ethics.
How much do sessions cost? +
We offer a sliding scale of fees based on your income and circumstances. We offer subsidised rates for students and those in financial hardship. Contact us and we will find an arrangement that works for you — no one is turned away.
How do you protect my data? +
We never share, sell, or pass on your personal information to anyone. All data is encrypted and stored in line with UK GDPR. Counselling records are kept completely confidential and separate from all other data.
Is this a faith-based service? +
Voices in Space is rooted in faith and the belief that every person has inherent worth and deserves to be heard. However, our counselling and support is fully inclusive — open to people of all beliefs, backgrounds, and experiences. Faith is never a condition of receiving support.
Can I access support if I live outside London? +
Yes. All our counselling sessions are available online worldwide via secure video. In-person sessions are available in London by appointment. Our signposting and podcast resources are freely accessible to everyone, everywhere.
